NLS of Lung and Pleural Infections

The study investigates the use of nonlinear diagnostics (NLS) in evaluating purulent-destructive diseases of the lungs and pleura, including abscesses, pneumonia, empyema, and gangrene.
A total of 267 patients were examined using NLS-graphy and compared with surgical and microbiological findings for validation.
NLS provided detailed three-dimensional visualization of lesions, allowing assessment of structure, content, and disease dynamics without radiation exposure.
For lung abscesses, NLS enabled classification based on drainage efficiency and identification of purulent versus gangrenous forms.
In abscessed pneumonia, pleural empyema, and pulmonary gangrene, NLS improved detection of fluid, air cavities, tissue destruction, and disease spread.
Overall, NLS proved valuable for differential diagnosis, staging, and monitoring of severe infectious lung and pleural conditions.
