This study evaluated 359 patients with complicated liver echinococcosis using NLS, CT, MRI, and radiography.
NLS was used in all patients to identify cyst size, location, parasite stage, and involvement of bile ducts and vessels.
CT and MRI provided additional information about calcifications, vascular invasion, and surgical planning.
NLS with Spectral-Entropy Analysis showed high diagnostic sensitivity for detecting echinococcal cysts.
Combining NLS with CT and MRI significantly improved overall diagnostic accuracy.
The authors concluded that a multimodal imaging approach is most effective for preoperative assessment of complicated hepatic echinococcosis.
