This study evaluated the use of nonlinear diagnostics (NLS) to identify biomechanical and autonomic dysfunctions in elite cyclists from the Russian national team.
Among the athletes, idiopathic scoliosis and vegetative dysfunction syndrome were common findings and were frequently associated with postural and muscular imbalances.
NLS was used to visualize a sequence of functional disturbances involving muscles, the spine, diaphragm, nerves, blood vessels, and internal organs.
The findings suggested that visceral dysfunctions and reflex muscular weakness may contribute to scoliosis development and autonomic nervous system disorders.
Targeted rehabilitation measures, including manual therapy, nutritional correction, parasite treatment, and self-management techniques, were implemented based on NLS findings.
Follow-up assessments showed reduced functional abnormalities and were associated with improved athletic performance and competitive results.
